Services for Violet Mae Cumbee, 87, of Paducah will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2008, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Tony Steele officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Cumbee died at 11:05 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at Western Baptist Hospital.
Born in Caldwell County, she retired from Wonder Market and was a member of West End Baptist Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Betty D. Parman of Paducah; four sons, Jim (Janice) Ladd of Ledbetter, Mike (Judy) Ladd and Walt (Jennifer) Garrison, both of Paducah, and Ben (Joan) Garrison of Livonia, Mich.; two stepdaughters, Lynda (J.W.) Leneave of Franklin, Tenn., and Beverly (Frank) Ryan of West Paducah; two sisters, Lucy Holcomb of Bowling Green and Velma Fundaugh of Battle Creek, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, T.J. Cumbee, and one brother, Louard C. Prowell. Her parents were John T. and Daisy A. Lynch Prowell.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2008, at the funeral home.
