Virginia Edith Padgitt, 89, of Lone Oak passed away at 6:10 a.m. Sunday, March 25, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi and was a graduate of Lone Oak High School Class of 1946. Virginia worked for Peoples National Bank as a Teller. She was a long time member of Lone Oak United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School, was a member of the choir and led the Keen-Agers Group. Virginia loved to entertain and was an avid cook. She enjoyed watching the Kentucky Wildcats play basketball and loved her kitty cats.
Virginia is survived by her husband of 70 years, John Bob Padgitt; daughter, Diane (Jim) Dodson of Paducah, Kentucky; son, Kenneth (Kathy) Padgitt of Smyrna, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Megan (Scott) Gasser of Louisville, Kentucky, Melissa Padgitt of Smyrna, Tennessee, Paige Dodson of Louisville, Kentucky and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Agnes Ross, Ausba Giltner and Estelle Owen. Her parents were Ford E. Hinchey and Ethel Ransom Hinchey.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Jones officiating. Private burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
