Wallace Lawrence

Wallace E. Lawrence, age 81 of Boaz, KY passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014 at 7:15 a.m. at his residence. Wallace was a member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church, a veteran of U.S. Army having served during the Korean Conflict. Wallace was a graduate of Reidland High School and attended Paducah Junior College. He was a supervisor for Illinois Central Railroad Shops where he supervised building and repairing locomotives. He was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan and enjoyed drag racing and 1965 & 1966 cars and trucks.

Survivors include two sons: Jeff Lawrence and wife Traci of Mayfield, KY and Mark Lawrence and wife Stacey of Boaz, KY; two brothers, John Louis Lawrence, Paducah, KY and William Terry Lawrence and wife, Martha, Paducah, KY; five grandchildren: Kate Haynes Carrell, Bryce Lawrence, Holden Berg, Josie Lavey and Leighton Lavey; one great-grandchild, Corbin Carrell; several nieces and nephews.

Preceding in death was his wife Betty Chester Lawrence; parents, Wallace Oliver Lawrence & Emma Lou Green Lawrence; one grandchild, Corey Sykes; two sisters, Betty Jo Madding and Shirley Spees.

Services will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner and Orr Funeral Home with Dr. Willis Henson officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 11, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
