Wayne “Nitro” Glisson age, 70, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away at 2:55 a.m. Friday, November 22, 2019 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center. Wayne was a member of Broadway Church of Christ and a veteran of U.S. Army. He was retired from TVA where he was a Boiler-maker Welder. He enjoyed bowling, skating, golfing, remodeling and especially spending time with family and friends. Wayne was a member of international Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders, Blacksmiths, Forgers and Helpers.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Lucrecia Solomon Glisson; three sons, Trevor Wayne Grantham, Jacksonville, Illinois, Kyle (Karen) Douglas Grantham, Brookport, Ilinois, Scott “Booter” Thomas Glisson, Paducah, Kentucky; three sisters, Sue (Jimmy) Wallace, Jackson, TN, Betty (Harry) Matheny, Paducah, KY, Patricia (Joe) Greenup, Ledbetter, KY; three brothers, James O. (Barbara) Riley, Paducah, KY, Charles E. (Donna) Glisson, Paducah, KY, Roy A (Polly) Glisson, West Paducah, KY; four grandchildren, Kathryn Paige (Samuel) Wallace, Lauren Nicole Grantham, Sydney Paige Glisson and Brianna Michelle Grantham; Great Grandchild to come in January, 2020; several nieces and nephews; special companion dog (Hazel Delany Glisson).
Preceding in death were his parents, Thomas Bishop Glisson & Vera Fulcher Glisson; one sister, Ruby McGee; one brother, Jimmy Riley.
Services will be held Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Andrew Clausen officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with military honors. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 26, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
