Mr. William "Bill" G. Harmon, age 92, of the Pryorsburg community passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at Baptist Health of Paducah, KY.
PFC William "Bill" Harmon served during WWII with B company, 4th Ranger Infantry Battalion, he served in Africa, Italy and was wounded at Anzio, January 30, 1944, PFC Harmon was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge, Purple Heart and numerous campaign medals. He was a member of the Eastside Holiness Church in Paducah, a member of DAV, a member of the Carpenters Union, and a retired carpenter.
Mr. Harmon is survived by his fiance', Elizabeth Freeman of Paducah, KY; a son, Harvey (Tammy) Harmon of Mayfield, KY; four daughters, Carolotta (Gary) Presson of Mayfield, KY, Carlene (Michael) Hurst of Jarrell, TX, Tammie Jo (Donald) Anderson of Mayfield, KY, and Loucinda Hope Torian of Mayfield, KY; one brother, John Harmon of Front Royal, VA; ten grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jearl Dean Jackson Harmon; three sisters; seven brothers; and his parents, Charles Harvey and Kate Blanche Jones Harmon.
Graveside services of Mr. William "Bill" G. Harmon will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Lone Oak, KY. Bro. Wayne Hicks will officiate. Military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #26.
Pallbearers will be Michael Hurst, Jason Stanley, Jesse Harmon, Antonio Norsworthy, Joseph Tyler and Mike Jones.
Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 27, 2015 at the Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY.
