William 'Bill' McKinney Jr.

William "Bill" McKinney Jr., age 70, passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, at 4 a.m. at his residence.
Mr. McKinney was a native of Smithland. He was a self-employed building contractor, cement mason, and entrepreneur. He also served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Pentecostal Tabernacle in Water Valley.
He leaves behind his wife, Loma Jean McKinney; three sons, Jason Purcell and Brent McKinney, both of Murray, and Kirk McKinney of Tampa, Fla.; two brothers, Joe McKinney of Benton and Ricky McKinney of Paducah; four grandchildren, Natasha Purcell, Eliana Purcell and Talon Purcell, all of Murray, and Stratton McKinney of Tampa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence McKinney and Bennie Tipps McKinney; three brothers, Calvin McKinney, Donnie McKinney and Elvis McKinney; and two sisters, Rachael Smith and Sue Pearson.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at the Keeling Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry McClure officiating. Entombment will follow at the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
