William Ollin West, 95, of Paducah, KY, passed away at 7:20 pm Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Superior Care Home. He was a retired Chief Maintenance Engineer with Baptist Health Paducah.
Bill was born in Puryear, TN on February 3, 1920 to William and Frances West. He served his country during World War II, in the United States Army as a Master Sergeant. As a man of high integrity and having a strong work ethic, church and family were very important to him. He served for many years as an exemplary elder with the Lone Oak Church of Christ. He will be lovingly remembered as a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. As a man who enjoyed life, Bill was often heard "whistling as he walked".
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Thomason West, of Paducah, KY; his daughters, Janice West Crosno and husband Bob, of Paducah, KY, Linda West Smith and husband Dr. Rod Smith of Richmond, VA, Sue Anne West Robinson and husband Randy, of Paducah, KY and step daughter, Margaret Green Moss, of Greenbrier, TN; his step son, Charles Green and wife Peggy, of Puryear, TN; his sister in law, Carol West, of Murray, KY; his grandchildren, Janschelle Barnes, James Barnes, Alicia Goode, Ellen Mooneyham, Nathan Smith, Stephanie Kraft, Karen Goggans and John Robinson; his great grandchildren, Christopher Goode, Calvin Goode, Jillian Mooneyham, Analeigh Mooneyham, James Mooneyham, Elizabeth Barnes and Nathan Barnes.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, of 61 years, Irene Seymour West; his parents, William Oakley West and Frances Louella Kimbro West; his brothers, John Harvey West and Henry Key West.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at the Lone Oak Church of Christ. Paul Wingfield and Jamey Boone will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 pm Monday, June 29, 2015 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah and from 10:00-11:00 am Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at the Lone Oak Church of Christ.
